Conflict minerals: These are minerals from conflict zones in the Democratic Republic of Congo, including columbite-tantalite, cassiterite, wolframite, and gold. These minerals are refined into tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), tungsten (W) (referred to as 3TG minerals), and gold (Au), used in electronics and other products.
Some metal mineral resources have become a major source of funds for armed rebel groups in the Democratic Republic of Congo, used to trade weapons, prolong their bloody conflict with the government, and oppress local civilians, thus causing international controversy. As a global citizen, Haitong Company declares and promises not to accept metals from conflict mineral zones; at the same time, we also require Haitong Communication Electronics' suppliers:
1. Must fulfill social and environmental responsibilities;
2. Ensure that products do not use "conflict minerals" from the Democratic Republic of Congo and its surrounding countries and regions;
3. Trace the origin of gold (Au), tantalum (Ta), tin (Sn), and tungsten (W) contained in all products; 4. Communicate this requirement to your upstream suppliers.
