Protecting the country and bringing peace is our shared responsibility.

Since studying the teachings of the sages, I have personally participated in no less than ten Three-Times Remembrance Dharma assemblies presided over by the Dharma Master. Each time, I have felt the Master's compassionate heart, his concern for the suffering of all beings and his unwillingness to see the decline of the holy teachings. Even at the age of 60, he continues to go wherever he is needed, contributing his efforts to the cause of world peace. At this Dharma assembly, the Master, due to previous travel, felt a slight chill. However, in order not to disappoint the public, despite a headache and fever, he insisted on presiding over the Dharma assembly. This reminded me of the teachings of Master Meng: 'A scholar must be resolute and determined, bearing a heavy responsibility and a long journey. To take benevolence as one's responsibility, is this not a heavy burden? To die without accomplishing it, is this not a long journey?'

On September 24, 2012, a three-session recitation of the Amitabha Sutra for national protection and disaster relief, presided over by Taiwanese Buddhist monk Master Wu Dao, was held at our company's new factory in Wenzhou's Binhai Park. Led by General Manager Jin Haiyan, after several weeks of preparation, the ceremony was successfully held as scheduled. Attendees included not only local residents of Wenzhou, but also lay Buddhists from Taiwan and Shanghai who traveled specifically for the event.

Master Wu Dao arrived in Wenzhou on the afternoon of the 23rd. After a short rest, he conducted a one-hour purification ceremony at our factory that evening. We are grateful for the Master's tireless efforts in personally visiting every corner of our company to offer blessings, not only for our company but also for the well-being of all people, for national protection and disaster relief.

On the morning of the 24th, even before dawn, volunteers from Cangnan and the local area were already diligently working in the fourth-floor meeting hall, kitchen, and restrooms. The morning involved the recitation of Mahayana Buddhist scriptures and the midday offering. The afternoon and evening consisted of the three-session chanting ceremony. For the entire day, the more than 200 people present were bathed in the pure and joyful teachings of the sages, feeling their burdens lifted, their sorrows alleviated, and blessings bestowed.

Since studying the teachings of the sages, I have personally participated in at least ten three-session recitation ceremonies presided over by Master Wu Dao. Each time, I have felt the Master's compassionate heart, his concern for the suffering of all beings, and his unwillingness to let the sacred teachings decline. Even at the age of 60, he continues to go wherever he is needed, contributing his efforts to world peace. In this ceremony, the Master felt slightly unwell due to previous travel, but to avoid disappointing everyone, he persevered in presiding over the ceremony despite a headache and fever. This reminds me of the teachings of Mencius: A scholar must be resolute and determined; his responsibilities are heavy and his journey is long. To take benevolence as his responsibility—is this not heavy? To continue until death—is this not long? (Article by Wu Yulong)
